Abstract
This study investigates introductory aspects of the organizational structure of political parties in Brazil. The methodology used involved bibliographic research and both quantitative and qualitative analyses, through access to the open database of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), initially focusing on the annual accountability reports of political parties in four small municipalities in the country (Itararé/SP, Bom Sucesso de Itararé/SP, Cordeiro/RJ, and Macuco/RJ). The analysis revealed variations in the presence and performance of local parties, as well as differences in compliance with accountability requirements. Future research should explore more deeply the relationship between the frequency of party registration, their ability to account for their activities, and electoral success. The next step of the project is to expand the analysis to national, state, and municipal levels to assess the organizational reach and density of the parties.
