Abstract
The integrity of the voter register is an essential element of a reliable electoral process. This research aims to understand how this stage of the electoral process works in four countries: Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. The research starts by collecting the rules governing the formation of electoral registration in the chosen countries, which allowed a comparison with the Brazilian way of registering voters. As a result, the work contributes to the knowledge of voter registration systems in neighboring countries, while also proposing a critique of the electoral registration system in Brazil.
